Week of May 17

Welcome Parents!
We have an exciting week in 2nd grade! There is a parent meeting in the parish hall on Tuesday at 7pm. The students will be presenting their career reports that they have been working so hard on. You are welcome to join us on your child's day to present. All boards are due on Monday, May 17th. Please see schedule below for your child's presentation day.

2nd grade will also be visiting the Emerson Fire Station on Friday, May 21st. We will be learning about people at work in our community. We will provide lunch for the class at the park. We will leave school at about 9:30 and return at 12. Permissions slips will go home on Monday and must be returned on Wednesday. No child will be permitted to go on the field trip without a permission slip. We will take our Spelling test on Thursday this week and there will not be Reporters this week.

This week we are working on the long vowels at the ends of syllables and the consonants ch /k/ and sch /sk/ sounds. We are continuing to work with money in Math. Our People at Work unit in Social Studies will conclude this week with our Career presentations and field trip to the fire station.
